History

The Collegium of Anton Neuwirth is the brainchild of the Ladislav Hanus Fellowship which was established on October 7th 2002. For nearly seven years it has been inviting young people into dialogue with the great thinkers upon which Western civilization is founded.

Today it has almost 200 members. The Ladislav Hanus Fellowship has touched the lives of dozens of other young people by its educational programs.

The Ladislav Hanus Fellowship has decided to take the next step in fulfilling its mission by establishing a permanent educational institute for the spiritual formation and leadership training of young Christians. Today, after two years of preparation, the opening of the Collegium of Anton Neuwirth is within reach, thanks to courage and generosity of many.

Although the Collegium was officially established by its registration into the Register of Civic Associations at the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic on 6th February 2009, its actual opening will occur when the first students commence this unique nine month education formation program in September 2009.

The dream of a permanent educational institute was initiated by Anton Neuwirth, who was known to many of us as a father and a friend. We believe that it is only fitting that the Collegium bear the name of this notable Slovak figure whose life motto was “To cure evil by means of love.”
